This was my first floor coating project. I coated both my 300 sq ft single-car garage and my 140 sq ft patio. I am very grateful that I found Concrete Floor Solutions to help me with the nuances of this project. Jason, the president, was available via email almost in real time which I found amazing for someone who runs a company the size of this one. He helped me choose the right size kit, the flake color and explained all the features of using regular vs. polyaspartic topcoat, which I did upgrade to.
Jason walked me through the ordering process, even creating a shopping cart with my items in it. I learned that a new website was being brought online right around the time I ordered so there were some detours to navigate.

The products came as promised and were packaged with safe and modern methods. Considering all the liquids I received, there were no leaks or damaged containers – amazing. The cans have Jason’s logo and labels on them so there is a consistent feel to everything. From ordering to using, the products were familiar and easy to use. I would have appreciated more temperature and pot life/working time data on each product though. And the cans did not have the quantity of the contents on the label. That was important to me since I had to proportion everything between the two separate floors. I did figure it out though.

I bought a squeegee at a big box store and it was too thick and didn’t conform well to the floor so I had to work a bit harder to spread the product after pouring it. I must say that in the videos – and there are many of them which I watched – Jason made it look easy to pour the product from the mixing bucket. I found it a to be a circus and ended up with big puddles and tiny rivers to spread with my stiff squeegee. I’ve worked with epoxies a lot as a boat owner for many years so I was feeling the pressure of pot life and working time. The temperatures were in the 50-70 degree range and I never had a batch kick off in the pot.

My garage has coves which I found tricky to apply the flakes to. I could have done that better. I had never used cleats before and there are some pitfalls – such as turning an ankle if you aren’t careful. But the worst is when I dragged a cleat and made streaks in the material. No problem except while throwing the flakes. When I made a streak then, there was no way to roll it out. I tried to hide the streaks with flakes but that made a concentrated area of flakes. Be careful~!

I waited overnight between each coating and it worked very well for me.

The hardest most frustrating part was grinding. I haven’t done this before. I rented a Husqvarna PG280 grinder and the coarsest diamond segments they had was 60. I took a set of 120s in case the 60 was too much. Jason had recommended 40 but I chickened out not wanting to create gouges. But I should have gotten 40s. My floors were hard and the grinder bounced too much and I found that adding weight to the front of it stopped the bouncing and I was able to complete the job. Jason makes it look very easy – like other skills – if you know how, it is easy. I ended up with some grinder marks but the finish is forgiving and once the flakes and aluminum oxide are applied, the flaws in the grind were hidden pretty well. Yay!

This was a very satisfactory experience for my first time applying an epoxy floor coating, thanks to Jason and his generous assistance almost daily. The entire cost including rental of the grinder and upgrading to the polyaspartic was just around $2,000 which is about a third of what a contractor would have charged me. The total time for the project was about a week. I’m allowing 72 hours of cure time before moving things back. I did, however, move the water heater back to ease the pain of showers.

Our floors are amazing now and I am proud to have friends and family see them. Thanks, Jason!

I purchased the 500 sqft kit because I saw his video on YouTube. I think the most value I got with this kit was Jason was always available to answer questions and give advise about odd areas in my garage. I used a hand grinder and made sure the floor was prepped very well. I taped all walls that I did not want to get epoxy on.
Another thing that I did that helped was to watch the video again before each step. I found that the primer soaked into the concrete more than the intermediate or top coat. Had more than enough for each coat. It’s a great product and looks wonderful.

I greatly appreciate your helpful advice by email and your great videos. Your approach is highly professional and your techniques are the most consistent and well done that I have seen online (and I have watched a LOT of videos). I learned a lot by doing this and am hoping that friends will ask me to help so I can point them to you.
    Best,
    Tai

I am so happy I found concrete floor solutions on the internet. My brother had epoxied 3 garage floors and tried to steer me to other products but after seeing Jason’s video I asked him what he thought he said concrete floor solutions looked like a great product. I just finished my 1200 sq ft pole barn. I could not be happier. Everything was perfect form ordering, delivery and quantity of the product. It simply amazes me that Jason will go out of his way to answer emails and phone calls to help all of us first timers. He really made the job easier.
    Thanks again Jason

I spent a good deal of time watching youtube videos on installing an epoxy garage floor before finding Concrete Floor Solutions videos. I was sure after watching their videos that they had a solid operation so I purchased their kits and followed their instructions. I am very happy with the final product and I saved a lot of money doing it myself. I live in Connecticut and it seems like every trade wants extremely high prices for everything they do here. Now it is dirty job and grinding of the floor is by far the most difficult part. I used a hand grinder and did not bother renting a big floor grinder. That was a mistake. I have a 550 square foot 2 car garage and a floor grinder would have made it a lot easier. If you don’t mind the grinding process then it’s worth doing it yourself in my opinion. The products are first rate and their videos show you all you need to know.

We cannot say enough about these products and Concrete Floor Solutions Although I am sure there are other good products on the market I feel that Concrete Floor Solutions is set apart by their amazing customer service. As this was our first time doing a project like this I had several questions. Jason was patient and attentive and responded promptly to each concern. The final product is nothing short of amazing. We are getting so many complements on it!
Part A & B materials were boxed in together for each step of epoxy making the mixing process idiot proof. Instructions were VERY thorough. Youtube video were helpful to visualize prep and installation process. The hardest part was prepping the floor. We used a hand grinder on the edges and rented a diamond grinder for $200 (for 4 hours) at our local rental shop. This was worth it as it is a dusty time consuming job. Once the floor was prepped laying the epoxy was very straight forward.
Thank again to Jason and Concrete Floor Solutions. I will be sure the send business your way!

I learned about Concrete Floor Solutions through watching Jason’s outstanding and informative YouTube videos. Jason provided outstanding support through consistently quick and helpful responses to all my questions by email. He also offered his cell number to respond to queries. From guidance on concrete prep, to equipment and product selection, to epoxy application, I felt as prepared as possible. I am extremely pleased with the outcome of our 650 sq ft garage and would highly recommend Concrete Floor Solutions for their products and service.

I checked out having another company do this project. Their cost was 3 times what this cost to do myself. Jason really knows his stuff and helped me select the right product. In one weekend I had a professionally looking garage floor . My wife and neighbors can’t believe how awesome it turned out.

I had done this in a pole barn with my dad 2 months ago and we used 2 of the kits so I was familiar with the process. I purchased the 500 sq foot kit for my garage in our new home. Jason was great and answered all my questions by phone and email. The various videos were helpful and I watched them more than once. My wife and I did the primer coat and I made a “mistake” that I thought was disastrous. We called Jason and he answered and told me what to do to fix it and even met me on the weekend to get more product to fix the “accident”. He saved the day 1 primer coat. My dad came to help me with day 2 and day 3 which went smooth and no issues. I would recommend doing the 3 step system – 1 each day. That was easy and less worry, plus it dried nice. We couldn’t be happier with the color, the cost of the product, and doing it ourselves with Jason’s help of course. Our neighbors are envious.
